Jean-Christophe Canizares of ECA2 will talk about the "Big-O Show" at Thea Case Studies Day April 5 in Anaheim

Thea Case Studies Day on April 5, 2013 showcases the projects that will be honored with Thea Awards at the April 6 gala the following evening. The speakers are project owners and creatives. In connection with the Big-O Show, centerpiece spectacle of Yeosu Expo 2012, which will receive a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement, Jean-Christophe Canizares, CEO of ECA2 will talk about the project. His co-presenter will be Berni Jo.

With his eighteen years of experience in the company, Jean-Christophe Canizares leads a team that includes talents in the fields of creation, engineering, logistics, project management and production. He perpetuates ECA2’s unique characteristic: a combination of creativity, technical and operational know-how and innovation.

After qualifying as an engineer and debut as technical manager for concerts and festivals, he first worked with ECA2 in 1992 on the opening of Euro Disney. After a number of external collaborations, he joined the permanent staff of ECA2 in 1994.

During these eighteen years, Jean-Christophe CANIZARES played a creative and production role in all of ECA2’s shows, acting first as technical director, then as chief of operations and finally as CEO. This dedicated and multifaceted experience has empowered the realization of incredible and successful shows all around the world.

ECA2 clients for special events and semi-permanent projects include Shanghai World Expo, Aichi International Expo (« Movement Is Life ») and Lisbon Expo 98
(« Acquamatrix »). Projects also include permanent shows such as BraviSEAmo for Tokyo Disney Sea, « Songs Of the Sea » at Sentosa Island and the recent Big-O Show for Expo Yeosu 2012.

During all those years of leadership, ECA2 has continually striven to achieve breakthrough innovations, maintaining its position as the undisputed world leader in nighttime spectaculars and multi-media shows.
Thea Case Studies Day April 5 is part of the annual, 2-day TEA Summit and TEA's Weekend of Events, culminating with the Thea Awards Gala on April 6. All events take place at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim and are organized by the Themed Entertainment Association. Tickets are available now.
